And a Happy Who Year!

Well, it's over. Like I've said before, I'm probably not going to start this up again next year (TOMORROW?) so that's that. I've learned a lot about photography from this. I mean, I start out completely dependent upon the no-flash setting on my camera and now I know exactly what each button and trigger and thingymajig does on my DSLR. (Although, explaining it might be another issue.) I've become a better artist for certain, but nowhere near where I'd like to be and I maybe never will get to the point where I'm actually happy with something I've done.

I'm not going to do it again, not because it was time-consuming. On the contrary, this really just became another part of my routine - eat, sleep, 365. Sometimes I'd forget, but I always made up for that in different ways. I'm not going to do it because not having an audience can get to a person. Sure, once or twice a person glanced at this, but I truly believe if I'm going to improve at photography or at art in general, I need someone else to tell me so. Even if it were strangers on the internet. So no audience. No more blog.

That's not to say I'll stop taking pictures. I mean, I take pictures of everything anyway. And maybe I'll move this shindig to tumblr. That seems likely.

I may or may not do FYSM (Fill Your Sketchbook Month) which starts tomorrow. May also do Wreck This Journal. I don't know, man. I just don't know.

2010 was... not a very good year for me. A lot of really shitty stuff happened. But at the same time, a lot of great things happened, too. I'm not going to start naming all those wonderful and terrible things. That would be for my real journal. So I'll leave this here. Probably never to see the light of day again.

Guess there's no need to thank anyone since no one reads this. Can you feel my bitterness? I hope so.

Christmas Cards

Even if the reaction to these cards were less than what I hoped for, (No, it's cool. I don't even get thanked.) I still love them to pieces. And I've got about five extra copies of each one cause I kept messing up sizing so suck on those eggs.

Sheldon Cooper

And Lauren's lack of any perception of anatomy or facial features.

Gratuitous Picture of Yourself.

All day, every day.

Sunday, December 26, 2010

Comparing the new Doctor to the old Doctors is one of my favorite things to do while watching the new episodes.

Christmas Eve

And all is well.

Watching lots of Doctor Who so I'll be prepared for the Christmas special on Christmas! :)

Wednesday, December 22, 2010

Sort of look like Tim Burton, amiright?

Lunar Eclipse

Stayed up to watch the lunar eclipse this morning. It was extremely cold. Pretty sure my toes were dying.

The Sorting Hat and the Scarf of Sexual Preference

They're on their honeymoon.

"After all this time?"
"Always," said Snape.

I swear, if they change even a little bit of The Prince's Tale, I will walk out. Of course, that's balderdash - they're going to change EVERYTHING. Garsh. Whatever. Snape/Lily has always been my favourite love story of them all. So tragic. And I've been a Snape fan since the beginning. (Even though I did think Snape really was a bad person.)

Snow Moustache

The best kind there is! Today it SNOWED! I mean, really snowed! I mean, the ground was covered! I mean, I mean, I mean! Snoooowww!

Wednesday, December 15, 2010

More snow! This melted by the time I woke up the next day, of couse. Tsk. Pity.

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

I plan on putting something by him which is why it's all white. I need to fix his right eyebrow. Seriously.

Did I Mention It Also Travels In Time?

Said by the 9th Doctor. The line that convinced Rose to come with him. Who then fell in love and lived happily ever after with his metacrisis half-human, half-timelord clone, AKA "Handy". If you told me I'd love this show to bits about five years ago, I would have said you were crazy. Or believed you wholeheartedly. Or just asked you how the heck you traveled back in time to tell me in the first place. Yeah. That seems most accurate.

The Great Mouse Detective

Used to love this movie; well, I still do. I just haven't seen it in forever and ever. :D

Proper Snow

I woke up, looked outside, and probably shouted some strange things. OH CRUMPETS! There's snow! Fizz and I took the opportunity to get some shots in before it melted. :)

White Blood Cell Family

A little project Meredith suggested I do. So I did. Because I've got, quite literally, nothing else to do.

Before the tablet took over:

The Tempest

Just read Shakespeare's The Tempest. It was way too happy all the time with no forseeable "OH GOSH EVERYTHING'S TURNING TO CRAP RUN FOR YOUR LIFE AHHH" moments. Which every good ANYTHING has. Whatever. It was still awesome. It's Shakespeare. The movie is coming out December 17th. I'm very excited. (RUSSEL BRAND, yo!)

Oh, and I cast the movie myself. HUZZAH!

Amelia Jessica Pond and the Weeping Angels

Okay. I don't really know what's going on with her right foot. It's on backwards or sideways or something. JUST DON'T BLINK - err... look. And the angel. Well, I just added that as a second thought and obviously, my second thoughts look like utter a-five-year-old-could-draw-that-better crap. SO. Ignore the angel, too. Oh God, I'm a bad person. "The image of an angel becomes, itself, an angel." OH GOSH JUST KEEP LOOKING AT IT.

I'm quite wired right now, huh?

Matt Smith

I need to fix him. LIPS. Hate them. Absolutely ridiculous looking if you want them to seem remotely realistic. If I had patience, I would shade everything and then the lips would look OK, but I really don't want to do that.

Anyway. Matt Smith as the 11th Doctor from Doctor Who.

From left to right: Sherlock, Watson, Mycroft kitties. The violin looks more like a cello in size. Wet Mycroft looks a bit disgruntled.

These drawings are a bit mixed up, so you can actually see in the background of this picture the snowman picture from yesterday. Because technically this picture came first, and THEN the snowman one. /cool story bro

Sherlock & John's Snow Shenanigans

I don't even know what's going on with Sherlock's face/hair, but I'm way too lazy to fix it. I quite like the Snowman!Watson. Especially with the touch of John's favourite jumper. :]

Christmas Bokeh

Something I've always been fascinated by. I MEAN JUST LOOK. IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL. Kristin came over (up? down?) and we got/decorated a tree. :)

Friday, December 3, 2010

I get way too overhumanly excited about snow. I mean. Really.

Smooth Sailing

I've always wanted to try the smooth water/slow shutter/smooth water effect. (GOD HOW AM I SO CAMERA SAVVY?) Finally, it got cold enough that no one (except myself, of course) was crazy enough to go out on the golf course. I love coming here. :) Fizz joined me and stared at that water, knowing he wanted to go in it for some reason, incomprehensibly.

Doing "Sketchember" (yeah, the title says Sketchcember. I think that sounds better. Deal with it.) where you draw one (fanart) picture a day for all of December. I was watching Doctor Who all today, so what better character(s) to draw? The Doctor Donna. ;_; SO FREAKING SAD. I cannot draw hands. Or Donna.
