The Apple Hatch

I'm certain there was a Mac Apple Dharma branch. There had to be. So, my sticker is totally awesome and not nerdy at all. Gotta love Mak's "You bettah take yo hands offa me or Imma kill you and your whole fam'ly" face. Gotta love him. Today, I went back to my dear high school to get my transcript which I now have to take to the University myself. Gay driving is gay. >:( So, that'll be fun.

I also watched some "How I Met Your Mother" which is, as always, absolutely hilarious. Gotta love Barney. I still prefer The Big Bang Theory or Modern Family when it comes to 23 minute sitcoms, but as TV shows go, HIMYM is pretty great.

Today, I also made a video for a dear friend of mine. But that shall remain hidden for now for undisclosed reasons. MWAHAHA!

Today's Lost graphic is... *picks randomly from list of saved pictures*

Ah yes. Poor Ricardo! He looks like Ke$ha! XD I adore whoever made this...

Favorite Spots

This is one of them. I sort of had to sneak my way here and it was *so* hot out. But I made it! I only got a couple pictures because I heard voices. The ones not in my head, this time. Shocking.

Also, I discovered this: Click me!  Hours of fun. I kid you not. So amusing. Just... It's just so hilarious. So, I'll leave you with another Lost graphic, since that seems to be a pattern lately.

How about my most recent bookmarked picture?

Adorable Michael Emerson is adorable! n_n

Dirty Dishes

Today I made banana bread. Still waiting on that call from the Humane Society. God, I need to be doing something... Today I also played some Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Very exciting. Hadn't played it for, like, a year. Banana bread is in the oven and it smells so good. Mmmm. I hope it turns out okay. :) I wish we had some cool whip or some whipped cream... but alas.

Oh Jack and his jears. :*(

I Will Not Bow

I'm feeling rather music video-y this weekend, so let's keep going, shall we? This is a video I made back in February. "I Will Not Bow" by Breaking Benjamin is a great song and that's really the only reason I decided to use this song. Normally, I choose songs because their lyrics makes sense as the character the video is about. I got lucky this time because the lyrics definitely do make sense when it comes to Sylar.

Today, Kristin, Hannah, and I played games (Clue, Mexican Train Dominoes) and then made cookies. Kristin and Weare eventually left and I watched the Emmys. I was so disappointed and pissed off that Lost didn't win a single thing. (They won something at the Creative Emmys the previous night, but that hardly counts!) Michael Emerson deserved an Emmy for his phenomenal acting in every episode he did, but especially for "Dr. Linus." But Terry O'Quinn needed that win even more! Not only did he play two characters, but he did so fantastically. Maybe they canceled each other out, but I still think Terry and Michael deserved that more than the other guy that won did. (The guy who did win even said he was rooting for Memerson and Terry!) By the end of the night, when Lost was passed up for best writing (Oh, come on! Everyone loves Darlton!) and for best directing (Poor Jack Bender...), I was in an outrage. It all came down to the winner of the Best Drama series. And Mad Men won. I've never seen Mad Men, but I heard it's really good. (Obviously.) But that was Lost's last season! Sure, it might not have been its best, but seriously? Mad Men? I wanted to sic Smokey on their asses. See how they like that Emmy, now! Hmph.

Yes, Josh. I was upset, too. But that's okay. In every Lost fan's flashsideways, you guys won. :) Cheers!

Cooking

Today, Kristin and Weare came up. We ate delicious foods. :) This morning, before they arrived, I took a drive into el ciudad to the Humane Society to get an application. I sent it in today, too. I'm waiting (im)patiently.

The Man Who Can't Be Moved

I do work with video on occasion, and as this is a creative challenge not exclusive to just photography, why not add some of that? I made this video about a month ago (actually exactly a month. Funny.) after Taneisha showed me this song. She pointed out how it was something Desmond would totally do. That sort of crazy passion love thing. And she was right. I promised her I'd also do a music video of Daniel Faraday to the song "All the Memories" by The Classic Crime. We'll see if that gets done. ;P

One Day Left

One more day until heading off to university (as those crazy Brits call it). Not a lot to say about it that I haven't already ranted about in my journal other than I am both nervous and excited (I believe they call that anxious). But that's typical.

Today, I gave Galaxy a much needed cleaning. Now it's only disgusting if you have eyes that can look down between the seats (I urge you not to do that.) I finished that around one. Had lunch. (Mmm. Canned food. I would've been so happy in the Dharma Initiative. No complaining from me. Especially if Hurley were the cook. I'm sidetracking again...) I thought about going out to Best Buy and picking up season six of Lost. I convinced myself it was stupid - you might as well wait until Christmas when you can get the entire series in that totally awesome package thing with all the goodies and bonus crap. But then I remembered the minisode.

Mom called and I asked her to pick it up because I'm lazy and hate going out in public on my own. She's a beautiful person, so she did it. I paid her for it. Also, Mockingjay - the third book in The Hunger Games trilogy arrived (I preordered it on Amazon and it came out today). I was so excited! Haven't even opened it yet... I suppose I know what I'll be doing tomorrow. I digressed... Oh yeah! Season 6 of Lost.

The minisode was *totally* worth it. Not only that, but deleted scenes, some of the best bloopers ever, and commentary (Oh, you know when you're a nerd when...!) from the executive producers (those geniuses - Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindleof) and my personal favorite - the episode "Dr. Linus" (my all-time favorite episode of Lost) with commentary by Michael Emerson and two of the writers (whose names escape me). But the minisode wrapped it all up for me. It was the little extra piece of the Lost finale I needed as a fan because the ending didn't quite do it for me with the whole "let's all go to heaven together" thing. Also, the purgatory thing was totally unoriginal; The Lovely Bones had the exact same idea that while in this Limbo place and while you were sorting out your life and waiting for whatever, your Limbo could intersect with other people's similar Limbos. I didn't like The Lovely Bones, so props to Lost for utilizing the idea better, but still. I think I'm just bitter because the producers (Mr. Cuse and Lindleof) said over and over (or maybe just once and everyone else repeated it over and over) that the Island was *not* Hell or heaven or purgatory or anything of that nature. And sure. They didn't lie. The Island *wasn't* hell. But that definitely gave me and I'm sure a lot of other fans the idea that *nothing* on Lost was going to be purgatory. Which, of course, turned out to be wrong. I'd like to pretend that the flashsideways weren't Limbo, but were, in fact, parallel universes where the characters were able to lead their lives the way they wanted. But that's totally fanservice.

I definitely let that one get away from me. I could probably talk about Lost for the rest of my life if I wanted to... But I won't. Just one last comment, the comment I really was getting at; Benjamin Linus + Hurley = Best team EVER. There really wasn't a need for Walt (WTF? Mental hospital!) because I never really liked him, but I liked the idea that Ben went to go get him. In a way, it was sort of repentance for both killing his own faux-child, Alex, and for kidnapping Walt in the first place. The first time the Others/Ben kidnapped Walt, it was, of course, against Walt's will. But this time Ben rescued Walt, so that was cool how they mirrored that.

Also, WTF was up with the granola bar? Did it mean something, other than it was from the Dharma Initiative? And I loved the interaction between the two Dharma guys and Ben. Ben was still snarky and the same sort of character - he was just... you know, not evil.

Like I said - I could spend the rest of my life talking about Lost. But I won't bore my invisible/non-existent audience any longer. Cheers!

Behind Blue Eyes

That song isn't the reason I took this picture, though I have been listening to that song over and over. As much as I am an advocate of loving things in their original format, I've got to say I prefer Limp Bizkit's version of the song over The Who's. There's something that's inbred into every 90s baby, and that is to prefer grunge rock over class rock 'n' roll.

Part of the reason I even remembered that song existed is because of this video: CLICK ME NAO (This is the version by The Who, by the by.)

Often when I listen to music (Okay, not often, but enough times) I realize just how perfectly the lyrics to whatever song fit this character's story from this TV show/movie/book/etc. Occasionally, it'll be "This song fits what I felt in my own life at this certain time" but not so much lately. And since my entire brain has been invaded by Lost within the past three months, that's all I've been hearing in the songs I listen to - "Oh! This song is about Jack/Kate/Sawyer/Locke/Miles/etc." But I digress. I just wanted to say how perfectly Behind Blue Eyes fits Ben's character. So glad they did Dr. Linus. Ben is my second favorite character and as such, I was thrilled to find him redeemed in another life (brotha.)

Also, "All the Memories" by The Classic Crime = Daniel Faraday-Widmore/Charlotte Whatever-her-last-name-is music video.

One Thousand Cranes

"An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane, such as long life or recovery from illness or injury." (Wikipedia)

Well, I can't say I'm going to make a thousand of these guys, but they are fun to make. (Though they make my fingers ache after a while - especially the smaller ones. Note: crane made out of Starburst wrapper) I made most (if not all) of these guys while rewatching bits and pieces of Lost today. Bits and pieces that had Michael Emerson/Benjamin Linus in them, that is. And only them (though, as a true fangirl, I couldn't just skip over the random times Desmond would pop up with his notorious unbuttoned shirts and wavy hair).

I can't really remember why I wanted to make a paper origami crane in the first place. I believe it was just something I had always wanted to learn to do, especially after seeing the episode of Heroes where Hiro makes 1,000 cranes for Charlie. How cute were they? Besides, I'm biased - Jayma Mays is big-eyed and ginger. Also, she's on Glee, but I didn't know that at the time I watched Heroes.

Huck Finn was the required reading for college this summer. I read it (sort of) my sophomore year of HS, so it wasn't my first priority. I drew/painted this for a contest SMCM is holding. Hooray!

Today, Deirdre came over and we watched season 2 of Lost while painting. :)
