Everybody Get Happy

There's nothing that makes me happier than seeing Fizz leap into the air (awkwardly), almost catch a ball (awkwardly), drop it (awkwardly), go stumbling after it (awkwardly), until finally he's drenched in mud, dirt, water, and a sense of accomplishment. Needless to say, he got a bath (or ten). Seriously. He still smells like skunk, it's disgusting. It's almost all gone now, but it's gonna be a while before you want him coming up to you with big kisses.

Having way too much fun on Tumblr lately. So many uses for gifs, now!

Holly, Jubilee

Not really holly. Just a twig from a tree in the sideyard. It had cool berries on it, what could I say? Julie was happy to pose. (Who am I kidding, no she wasn't.) Well, she was at least tolerant of me shoving a camera in her face. That's something.

Pan got her time as a shutterbug, too, of course. She was more interested in finding a way off the stool and onto the floor. She likes to discover things. She also likes to hide behind couch cushions, but that's another story.

Late Bloomers

Seriously don't know where these fellas came from. They decided to spring up at the foot of a sign outside my house. It's freezing! Plus, everything else is dead. I'll give 'em props for gusto, though.

That's actually not entirely true... not *everything* is dead. My miraculously-still-alive garden has one inhabitant left:

It's a weird-looking bush. But at least it's alive. Even its sister died. Strange. In other news, I fell upon this video again. I'd completely forgotten about it 'til I saw it again on Tumblr. Cried my eyes out, again. From laughter, of course. Plus, you've gotta love David's Scottish accent. My only peeve about him being the Doctor was that he couldn't be Scottish! Tsk. In fact, everything I've seen him in, he's been from the North. Boo. Maybe it'll change in his new miniseries Single Father. I won't know for a long time - if only I lived in the UK! Darn you, BBC America!

Dexter

Started watching Dexter again. I'd seen the first 10 minutes or so of the first episode before, but it just didn't catch my fancy. Then, I read a recap of the entire show so far on EW.com and thought "What the hey?" So far I'm glad I did - it's great! A little graphic (a lot), but the humor makes up for it. And lucky for me, my short-term memory is so bad, I don't remember half of the spoilers I read in that article. I know his wife dies. And I knew he had a brother, but that's about it. And I just finished the season with his brother, so I should be pretty much spoiler-free here on out. Except for the wife thing, of course. Not too sad about that, actually. I've also been watching Angel, you see, and Darla in Angel is also Rita in Dexter, so... Lots of one-word titles... Weird. Anyway, I hate Darla. I hate her voice. Sometimes that voice comes out of Rita's mouth and I wanna punch her. But moving on... Jacob's in it, too! Except instead of touching people (woohoo!) he's just a drug addict fail-father. Awesome.

Anyway, the picture above I made entirely from the 6th episode: Return To Sender. And I made one for every episode after that. Maybe I'll go back and make the first 5. Who knows?

Episode 7: Circle of Friends

Episode 8: Shrink Wrap

Episode 9: Father Knows Best

Episode 10: Seeing Red

Episode 11: Truth Be Told

Episode 12: Born Free

Next is season two! Hooray. I'd just like to make a note that Brian (his brother) drew a striking resemblance to Cillian Murphy as the Scarecrow. Hmm. In looks, too. All he needs is a pair of nerd glasses! He'd be set. Also adorable.

I realize this sort of project is different from anything I've done so far (photographs, videos, drawings), but this is what I've spent the better part of the night on. And it's definitely a challenge. A creative one. So there. Cheers!

Rats!

Sorry about all the rats, but they truly are the only interesting thing happening to me. So yes. More rats. Today, Kristin, Weare, Mom, Hannah, and I went to the Mountain State Heritage Festival (?) somewhere in maybe-Charlestown. Very exciting. Lots of interesting aromas.

Moving on. Lost time.

It always bothered me that Claire never got this note from Charlie *or* his DS ring. Sun found it later and I thought for sure she was going to give it to Claire and that's how Claire was going to remember how to be normal again... or something. But alas. No such ending. In fact, I'm not even sure if Sun took the ring with her. I hate Sun. A lot. Not as much as some other people... but enough.

Meet Pan!

This is Pantalaimon. The second rat lady. She's much more curious than Jubilee is, that's for sure. She also really likes Animal cookies. Can't blame her. Kristin and Weare came over today to hang out some. Fizz also got sprayed by a skunk this morning, so that's awesome. We gave him 3 different baths with 3 different remedies, but he got sprayed on the face pretty bad, so he stinks. A lot. Poor guy has to spend the night on the porch. Thank goodness it's been warm lately. At least tonight my ratties can get a decent night's sleep without Sunny creeping around. He's seriously frightening around these guys. I had the gusto to introduce Jubilee to Mak. Mak was a little disgusted, actually. But he scared the bejeezus out of Julie, so that's something. The rats are still a little scared when they're out of their cage, but they'll grow out of it. It's only been a day, after all.

Lost graphic nanananana!

Awwww. Not Penny's Boat!?!

You know, I thought Charlie was crazy for driving my Des off of a pier into the bay, but then I watched that same Des run over a disabled man (Locke) with his car. So, that sort of put things in perspective. I attacked Taneisha when he ran over Locke. I was so upset. I thought he went crazy. Should've known he was helping. I mean, anyone could see that now. (Yeah, right.) Charlie's death scene was by far the saddest. Juliet takes a very close second, of course. Charlie, though, I loved from the beginning to the end. Juliet took me awhile to warm up. Now she's a beautiful person who I envy. Lots of envy in the last couple posts, huh? Weird. Cheers!

Meet Jubilee

Yes, I finally got rats. It's exciting, to say the least. I got two ladies. This fine female is Jubilee. She's a dumbo rat (just look at those ears!) who's a bit more skiddish than her pale counterpart. You'll be meeting her tomorrow. Mom's not too ecstatic, but I am. Smiles!

Met Deirdre at the Commons today at 3:30ish. We bought some rat stuff at Target, then waited around for Taneisha. Then, we went over to PetsMart and met Meredith. Then we all went to Doggone Pets to pick up the ratties. They're so cute. :3 There was a gray one that was so cute, but he was a boy, so that's a no. Regardless, I'm happy with my two ladies. They're still getting used to me and I, them.

Lost graphic time!
HAHAHAHA! I died when I saw this. Poor Miles. Must be hard being so right and awesome and Asian all the time. Also, Kate's face = perfect.

S'Mores, Please!

Found a surprise-hidden chocolate bar in the bread box, so I put it to good use. Spent most of today watching The Office. Good stuff.

Random Lost graphic here we go!
Poor Hurley. For a while, when I watched this episode ("Dave"), I was certain that Hurley really had dreamt this entire island up and I was about to go off on some people who had recently told me that the island was legit. But, I was happy that they finally gave Hurley some peace of mind by the end. Well, I was at least happy that he and Libby got together. Sort of. And then she got a DUI or something and died. (Don't you hate it when that happens?) On another note, I've got to add that Charlie and Hurley's bromance is by far one of my favorites. Their scenes together are hilarious, no matter what. They play off each other so well, even though they both provide the same sort of comic relief. That is all. Cheers.

Catwalk

Continuation of the other day's woes. This model's a bit curvier, isn't she? Again, she looked better with her clothes *off*, but isn't that always the case?

I don't know what that means, exactly. Neither do you. We're moving on.

I hate feet. I hate drawing them and mostly I just envy people who can draw them.

The Bathroom Creeper

I swear Mak literally stalks the end of the hallway just waiting for someone to go in so he can attack them with love and mewing and fallings-on-the-floor. (Don't you just love those?) He's so adorable once you get him behind closed doors, but he is so fekking creepy when he's just sitting down the hallway... staring at you... It's like he knows something.

Nah.

Lost graphic time! (And rant. I guess those go hand in hand.)

I had to click around to find a good one this time. Ben and Annie! How cute are they? One of my biggest Lost upsets is not knowing WTF happened to Annie! And was Mole-woman (what's her name? Harper?) talking about Annie when she talked to Juliet during that one session?
Harper: So, what do you think of Ben?
Juliet: He's... smart, blahblahblah. He's been really good to me.
Harper: Of course he has. You look just like her.
And then they just leave it like that! What's the use with a sentence as full of implications as that, if you're not even going to give me some answers? Honestly. Pissed me off. Still, the moments Ben *did* have with Annie were adorable, and I was so happy when I saw that he kept the presents. On a side note, I wonder if Ben ever got another birthday present? Maybe Alex gave him something when she was younger and she liked him...

Groundhog Day!

Only not. It is Kristin's birthday. And Taneisha's! Partay! Today was pretty uneventful. This groundhog decided to pop in for a visit, which Fizz was delighted about, although he was a little bummed he didn't get to play with him.

Just realized it's been so long since I've put up a Lost graphic! I've got a plethora. No worries.

I just randomly clicked on one and this is what I got. When I first saw this, I was like "Whaaaaaaa?" Then I remembered that they're brother and sister. Guess that's where this was going, anyway. I mean, Claire and Jack really have no other connection than that, so... that's got to be it. Must suck that they never actually got to talk after they found out. Jack just *had* to go and die!

Fashion!

Whenever I watch Project Runway, I'm always amazed - at the abilities of the participants to create out of curtains and tin foil, sure, but also to draw exactly what's on their mind. I have such issues with that. But they're so capable of just putting on paper what they envision and that's what makes me truly jealous. Anyway, this model was much better looking without the clothes. Just for the record.

Renaissance Fair

Today we traveled to Ye Olde Renaissance Fair! Took an early start, picked up breakfast (for the others, not myself - I'm not much of a breakfast eater) and arrived around 12 to join in the merriment that is dressing up and eating stuff that shouldn't (and probably isn't) FDA regulated. We bought tickets, got some maps, and promptly stood in the universal "I'm a tourist; judge me" circle.

We saw some pretty elaborate costumes. I've seen how much a plain old renaissance dress costs and if they didn't buy it, then making it has got to be 10 times more difficult. A lot of the dresses/outfits women wore were revealing (to say the least), but some were just downright awesome. The guy in the above picture reminds me of Leonardo DaVinci in Ever After. Gosh, I love that movie.

There was so much family dressing up, it was incredible. This was one of my favorites though. I'm not entirely sure what the message was, here: being a viking isn't all raping and pillaging and murdering! It comes with the occasional fried onion ring, too! Makes it all worth while. Moving on, I thought the girl was adorable. Sort of wish my parents were this nerdy.

In more exciting news, I saw my hero Ezio! He was, in reality, just an old guy with a beer belly in a white hoodie with a red scarf, but who cares? It's fekking Ezio! Assassin's Creed POWER! (Hoo ha! Nerdfighters!?)

Lastly, I got to hang out and have fun with this chick! All in all, the Renn Fair was awesomely epic and hilarious. Huzzah!

Daniel Faraday

As promised, this is the video I made for Taneisha's birthday. It is, quite truthfully, my least favorite music video I've made. Partially because my creativity was restricted: couldn't put Dan's dying scene in, couldn't put too much Charlotte in. Both of those I left out in the end. I actually did put Dan's death scene into the first draft, but then I thought how depressing that would be for a birthday present, so I filled it up with other wonderful things. How nice of me!

Tomorrow I'm going to the Renaissance Fair in Annapolis, MD. Lots of fun. Totes pumped. ;P

NO H8

I've been meaning to do this photoshoot for a bit, now.

"On November 4, 2008 Proposition 8 passed in California, amending the state Constitution to ban same-sex marriage. The defeat provoked a groundswell of initiative within the GLBT community at a grassroots level, with many new political and protest organizations being formed in response.

The NOH8 Campaign is a photographic silent protest created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska (
http://www.bouska.net) and partner Jeff Parshley in direct response to the passage of Proposition 8. Photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths, symbolizing their voices being silenced by Prop 8 and similar legislation around the world, with "NOH8" painted on one cheek in protest.

Nearly two years since its inception, the NOH8 Campaign has grown to over 5,500 faces and continues to grow at an exponential rate. The campaign began with portraits of everyday Californians from all walks of life and soon rose to include politicians, military personnel, newlyweds, law enforcement, artists, celebrities, and many more.

The NOH8 Campaign has received overwhelming support from around the world, appearing on various local and national news programs and publications. The images are currently being used on various social networking sites to spread the message of equality, predominantly Facebook and Twitter. Eventually the images are expected to be compiled for a large-scale media campaign.

Funds raised by the NOH8 Campaign will be used to continue promoting and raising awareness for Marriage Equality and anti-discrimination on a global level through an educational and interactive media campaign."

So that's that. Not to mention that every single person I revere has done this. Jennifer Lee, for one:

 Michael Emerson:
 Jane Lynch:
 The list goes on.

Ponies, Cows, and Really Skinny Horses

Today I woke up at 6:37 and drove to meet Deirdre where I then followed her to a little farm in the back roads. We took care of some very skinny horses and met some really awesome cows. This is Charlie - a miniature pony - and he was such a sweetheart. Quite like a dog the way he followed you and just wanted some loving.

Assateague Island

This morning we packed up and headed to Assateague. It was a horribly rainy morning, so there were no ponies around. :( We headed home. Deirdre came over and we played some Assassin's Creed.

Ocean City, Maryland

Today, Mom, Hannah, and I took a trip to Ocean City, Maryland. The water was reportedly freezing, though I didn't even go near it. Flocke led us on a trip to OC that took us twice as long as usual. God, I love technology.

Tea and The Office

Woke up with a pretty miserable cold, so I made myself a cuppa tea, grilled cheese, and tomato soup while I vegetated in front of The Office. Gotta love Pam & Jim.

Cerberus' Photoshoot

Today I met Deirdre at Wafflehouse for some breakfast. Then, she went to get her car fixed and I went home. She arrived later with Cerberus so we could take some pictures for a pet calendar at University. He was uncooperative to say the least, but still adorable. I played some Windwaker and beat the first boss with Deirdre's help. She left and I read some of "Johannes Cabal: Necromancer" which is my next book in my book club. Did I tell you I'm in a book club? Me, Deirdre, Meredith, Nicky, and Urn. Our first book that only Meredith, Deirdre, Nicky and I are reading/have read was/is "Of Mice and Men". I finished it on Sunday, I think. It was a pretty good book. Nice and short. And sad. Poor Lennie. :( Candy was great, and Slim was even better. :)
